Jim Havens began working with physicians in 2006 to develop an ambulatory surgery center with a 60,000-square-foot adjoining medical office building, which evolved into the 33-bed, full-service hospital known as The Medical Center of Newark. In 2012, the hospital sold for reportedly more than $26 million to Licking Memorial Health Systems.
